RoamList

How we rank

Every hotel on RoamList is ranked by one number: the Hotel score. It starts from the hotel's guest rating out of 10 and adjusts it for how many guests gave that rating.

Why review count matters

A 9.9 from three guests tells you less than a 9.6 from five hundred. So every hotel starts as if it already had 50 ratings of 8.0, a typical score for a good hotel. Real reviews then pull the score up or down. With many reviews, the Hotel score is close to the guest rating. With few, it stays near 8.0.

Hotel score = (50 × 8.0 + reviews × rating) ÷ (50 + reviews)

Area descriptions and hotel highlights are written with the help of AI, from hotel facts and guest scores. Scores and the order of the list come from the formula above, never from AI judgement.
